November 25, 2024 – On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Jigsaw Pictures is proud to unveil the teaser of Sisakti Rooh (Sobbing Soul), a touching 3-minute short film inspired by a nazm by the legendary Sahir Ludhianvi.

This film confronts the reality of violence against women, a subject that continues to haunt humanity. Sparked by the horrific assault on a lady doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata — a tragedy that ignited national outrage but risks fading from collective memory — Sisakti Rooh seeks to deliver a timeless message of empathy and respect.

“Sisakti Rooh, is the result of that idea. We joined hands with Abdullah Saleem Khan’s concept & his sensitivity towards this subject was the reason that he’s best suited to direct it as well” – Rajnish Lall, Founder and Producer of Jigsaw Pictures. “We also decided to produce this short film with the support of like-minded young & seasoned actors & technicians at no cost, so that we can offer the cost of production to a women destitute home where it can be used for their well-being.”

The teaser will release on November 25, with the film set to follow later in the week. Jigsaw Pictures urges everyone — women, men, influencers and change makers — to amplify this message through social media and spark meaningful dialogue. Together, let us challenge and change the mind-set that perpetuates brutality against women.
