IIM Kozhikode and Emeritus launch ‘AI for Senior Executives’ Programme in India to Equip Decision-Makers with AI Prowess

Mumbai, December 12, 2024:  The rapid integration of AI into various industries has disrupted the way business is being done across the global landscape. While AI, ML, GenAI and other next-generation technologies revolutionise several sectors, it also makes glaringly apparent the critical need for a skilled AI-proficient workforce. Furthermore, it highlights the pivotal role of pioneering leaders to steer high-performing AI-powered teams towards organisational success. To bridge the current gap in strategic corporate leadership that can catalyse groundbreaking AI-integrated solutions for real-world impact IIM Kozhikode – #3 ranked among Indian management colleges (NIRF 2024) announces the launch of its 30-week AI for Senior Executives Programme in India, in collaboration with Emeritus with an additional power-packed course from Kellogg Executive Education.

According to The 2024 AI Adoption Index 2.0 by IT industry apex body Nasscom that assessed enterprise AI execution ability, covering over 500 companies across seven sectors representing 75% of India’s GDP, there is a “2X rise in the number of companies in the Expert stage of AI adoption indicating significant progress.” The report also highlighted that “strong national-scale support pillars have emerged in promoting AI adoption – India AI mission, supportive policy framework, AI and GenAI-ready tech services, AI-focused startup ecosystem, and the 2nd largest installed AI talent base.” Another Deloitte-Nasscom report projected that India’s AI talent demand will “grow from 600,000–650,000 to more than 1,250,000 during 2022–27” while an EY 2024 poll on the flip side found that “50% of business leaders anticipate a combination of both layoffs and hiring over the next six months as a direct result of AI adoption.” The same poll also underscored that “even with hiring plans in place, three out of five technology leaders (61%) say that emerging technology has made it more challenging for their company to source top technology talent.” In this environment mastering AI implementation and AI-focused leadership capabilities is key to delivering value to business both in India and on the world stage. Understanding how to devise and deploy robust AI strategies across diverse industries and management functions is therefore crucial to meet the market demand for AI-fueled innovation.

This in-depth and hands-on programme is meticulously designed for a wide range of domain leaders, including senior technical product managers, chief digital officers, directors/VPs of digital transformation, technology/principal/domain consultants, founders of AI startups, and functional heads such as heads of product/marketing/strategy.
