National Carrier Air India earns Rs. 48 crore in single day

Dec 30, 2012: In these turbulent times when most of the Indian airline companies are making a loss, National Carrier Air India has made a record of sought by ferrying more than 50,000 on a single day. On 21st December, Air India carried 50,765 passengers across all their networks and achieved 87.7% occupancy on domestic routes and 77.9% on international routes, the combined occupancy being 81%. 35,246 passengers were ferried on domestic flights and 15,519 passengers ferried on international network with Rs.48 crore coming in National Carrier’s kitty. Air India has been consistently increasing its market share in domestic passenger market which has been dominated by IndiGo with 27.3% market share.
