Dec 31, 2012: Ashok Leyland, promoted by Hinduja Group launched a new 5 axle truck U-3723 which can carry load of up to 27 tonnes. The truck which has a self steerable pusher lift axle, two rear axles and two steerable front axles helps in carrying more loads. The company claims that the new 5 axle truck is one of the most fuel efficient trucks in its category giving better operational efficiency. The vehicle gives better balance and can carry a high load which is real good news for truck operators who look for reducing the operating cost. The vehicle sports a 225 HP ‘H’ Series CRS engine and 11 R20 tyres which helps in better fuel efficiency and driving comfort. It has also got a lower unladen weight and aerodynamic cabin. U-3723 has got a nine speed gear box which gives higher gradeability and parabolic suspensions with shock absorbers which gives better riding comfort.
