Feb 8, 2013: After drawing criticisms from the market for its Toyota Etios and Etios Liva for not meeting the expectations of the people with regard to quality of cars, Toyota is planning to come out with a sportier and more powerful Etios Liva hatchback. Toyota is planning to introduce the new Etios Liva with a powerful 1500 cc petrol engine and the car will sport a new suspension and improved brakes. The existing model has got 1200 cc engine and has drawn some sharp criticisms regarding the quality of plastics used for interiors.
According to sources, the new Liva model will be having wider wheels to cope with additional power and as well better quality plastic. The car will have new colour scheme and a host of other changes as well as part of a bid from the company to give it a premium appeal and boost up the sales. Toyota would be aggressively trying hard to ramp up volume in the hatchback category which happens to be the largest car segment in India.
