Xolo launches Android Smartphone Xolo A1000

In the ever competitive market of smartphones, we saw today the launch of another smartphone. Xolo launched its new Android Smartphone ‘Xolo A1000’. This phone which is powered by 2 gigahertz Intel atom processor is said to be one of the fast processors by the company. With this launch Xolo has become the first mobile hand set maker in Asia and second in the world to launch smartphones powered by 2 Ghz Intel chipset. Xolo A1000 can process two applications at a time like how it happens in a dual core processor powered smartphone.

Xolo A1000 which will be available for purchase from online portals from March 20 and from retail stores from March 21 has been priced at Rs.19,999. One of the main highlights of this phone is the speed at which the application can be loaded on the phone. The phone has shown two times higher processing speed that its competitors in the linpack test. The other notable features of the smartphone are:

  • 4.7 inch screen
  • 8 megapixel rear camera
  • 1.3 megapixel front camera
  • 8 GB internal memory
  • Talk time upto 9.5 hours on both 2G and 3 G networks

Xolo A1000 users can run 38 hours of nonstop music on it and 6 hours of high definition video such is the battery backup of the phone. With this launch, Xolo like other players Micromax and Karbonn have now started concentrating on the smartphone market after firstly coming up with basic phones. India, off late has been a growing market for smartphone makers and companies like Xolo and Celkon are trying hard to get a share of the pie. It remains to be seen how much clutter these small players are able to create in the smartphone market in the coming days especially when biggies like Samsung, Nokia and Apple are coming out with their smartphones in the Rs.20,000 range.
