Perfetti eyes big next fiscal

Perfetti, the Italian company who is the manufacturer of popular confectionary brands like Mentos, Center Fresh, and Happy Dent in India is expecting higher revenues in the next fiscal. The company is eyeing a turnover of Rs.2, 000 crore. The turnover of the company in the current fiscal is likely to be Rs.1, 700 crore.

Projection for the upcoming fiscal is around Rs.1,900-2,000 crore. The reports of the turnover projections were made by Stefano Pelle, who is the Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Vice-President of the Perfetti Van Melle Group.

Popular chewing gum brands like Chlormint, HappyDent, Mentos, Alpenliebe, Centre Fresh, and Mentos are manufactured by Perfetti and the company currently has three manufacturing plants in India. The plants are located in Chennai, Delhi, and Uttarakhand. According to the Chief Operating Officer of the brand, about 50 million unit’s chewing gums of this brand are consumed on a daily basis.

The company had a slightly modest beginning in India in 1994 and the company’s turn over in 1998 was Rs.130 crore. Majority of the business for Perfetti came from the metros like Delhi and Chennai.

The company is eyeing big not only with its turnover, but also scouting for a place to set up its fourth factory in the country. With the setting up of another factory the company is all set to improve its manufacturing capabilities and is looking forward to expand its business.

The ads featured for the Perfetti brand of chewing gums are unique and creative. The company had recently launched “Dimmag ki Batti Jala de” campaign. The riddle, “Batti Jalao” comprises of instances that are unconnected mixed with the characteristic flavor of the Mentos humor. The firm integrates innovative ad campaigns with its product. Product quality and attractive ad-campaigns makes the wind blow in favor of the company.
