Footwear brand Woodland forays into personal care products

April 4, 2013: Woodland which is positioned as a premium footwear brand is going to enter into the FMCG category by launching personal care products. Under a sourcing agreement with a German company, BNS, the company would be selling sunscreens and anti-bacterial lotions under the Woodland brand. An amount of Rs.80-100 crore has been earmarked as investment by the company to expand its stores and to launch these new FMCG products. The company has plans to open 50-60 company owned stores by this year end.

Aero Club the makers of Woodland brand would be using their 380 company owned stores to launch the FMCG range of products. The products which are being launched in the beauty space are herbal and eco friendly and the company has plans to launch the products first through their own retail outlets and then expanding to multi brand outlets.

Woodland which had a sales turnover of Rs.850 crore is looking forward to target both men’s segment and women’s segment. They have launched a new premium brand Woods as well and have future plans of launching 10 new stores of Woods focusing on high fashion wear for women.
