The kits for the 2022-23 season of the Indian Super League Club were revealed by the owners and co-owners of the club. The kit designing contest was organized by Chennaiyin FC for their fans to design the best of their kits and also by giving the inspiration behind those designs that made them curate those designs for the football club. The official kit was shortlisted from the upheld entries by the fans that curated some of the amazing designs for the kit. The event of revealing the kit was attended by owners Abhishek Bachchan and Vita Dani, along with them, there was Rajesh Kharbanda, the Managing Director and CEO of NIVIA who also addressed the event that was organized by the Chennaiyin FC.
There were two participants whose designs were shortlisted from the entries that were registered on the official website of the football club. The entries were closed at 50 to the second round. Out of which there two of them, Aystine Thomas Jesudas and Ramkumar B, the kit of these two respective participants were selected for the final designs for the official campaign that was to be held from 2022-23. The category of the kit that was given by the Chennaiyin FC was divided into three types: Home, Away, and Third. Therefore, Aystine who hails from the state of Kerala takes the holding of the home kit design that has been carried forward with some upgrades to the Away kit design while Ramkumar’s kit was shortlisted and became the contemporary Third kit design for the city and the team both.
Co-Owner Abhishek Bachchan stated that he feels great to return to Chennai with his extended family of him which he points out to be the whole Chennai city and the people residing in them. He also stated that CFC is very much known for its fighting till the end spirit, and it will keep it burning inside the heart of every team member until the last match. In the second statement Co-Owner, Vita Dani said that the kits that are designed are a strong feeling which is towards the team and have a feeling of trust among each member of the team present here. This trust will not be broken anytime, and the team will be in a raging mode again on the field.
