March 14, 2023, India: Aakrit Vaish, CEO and Co-founder of Jio Haptik, has been named as a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF), an honor that recognizes exceptional individuals under the age of 40 who are addressing some of the world’s most pressing problems. Started in 2004, YGL’s growing membership of more than 1,400 members and alumni of 120 nationalities includes civic and business innovators, entrepreneurs, technology pioneers, educators, activists, artists, journalists, and more.
Aakrit’s contributions to the conversational AI industry have been significant. Under his leadership,Jio Haptik has become a pioneer in the field, processing billions of interactions annually, making it one of the top Conversational AI platforms globally. Jio Haptik’s AI chatbot was responsible for powering India’s official WhatsApp COVID-19 helpline used by more than 50 million citizens, as well as JioMart, the world’s first end to end conversational commerce solution on WhatsApp.
Aakrit is a prolific angel investor in over 80 startups in India. He co-founded the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM), a non-profit organization consisting of Mumbai’s leading companies that aims to advance the city’s startup ecosystem.
