Adidas has signed on as the official performance footwear partner for the Indian contingent at the 22nd Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022, held in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8, 2022.

During the athlete giveaway ceremony, Adidas showcased their newest sports shoe, the Supernova, as well as a specially designed backpack and duffel bag for the participants. The company has always been at the forefront of providing athletes with the greatest equipment available to improve their performance. The running shoes are supportive of high-performance innovation and are comfy, making them ideal for beginning runners who wish to enjoy revolutionary comfort and make significant strides in their running careers.

Additionally, the Adidas Supernova was explicitly created with women’s comfort and requirements in mind. A hybrid midsole for boost and bounce in every step, padded tongue and heels for the pleasant outset, and a TPU outsole to retain a firm grip on any surface is further noteworthy elements of the new entry-level runners’ line.

In addition to incorporating technological and comfort advances, the new Adidas Supernova also emphasizes sustainability. The new product has a 12 percent lower carbon footprint for the female version and a 10 percent lower carbon footprint for the male version compared to a prior model, making it the first time Adidas has produced an entry-level product with such a low carbon footprint at scale and supporting sustainability.

As part of the Adidas Supernova community activations, Adidas Runners will hold “Bring-A-Buddy” runs for novices in cities including Bangalore, Mumbai (17th July 2022), and Delhi (24th July 2022). A variety of beginner-friendly speeds, including a comfort run/walk option, will be available for runners of all skill levels to choose from during the events.

This year’s CWG contingent comprises some of Adidas’ top athletes, including Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain, Hima Das, Nikhat Zareen, Manpreet Singh, Jeremy Lalrinnunga, and Manika Batra, who will compete for gold in their respective sports.

Sunil Gupta, Senior Director-Brand adidas, commented on this collaboration with the IOA, saying, “We are tremendously proud of this relationship with the Indian Olympic Association for the CWG. Our goal is to provide our athletes with the highest performance equipment to improve their athletic performance and position them for success.
