Renault India Pvt Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renault S.A., France which currently sells five vehicles on the Indian market: The SUV Duster, budget car Kwid, family car Lodgy, and Triber, and the new crossover Captur. Renault India exports the Duster models to the growing right-hand drive range market. Renault cars are manufactured at the Oragadam factory, Chennai, with a capacity of 480,000 units annually with 3 shifts every day.
Renault India said that they will continue to sell the SUV with the current 1.5-liter petrol engine, with three trims priced at ex-showroom prices ranging about 8.59 lakh, about 9.39 lakh, and about 9.99 lakh.
At a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh, Renault Duster Turbo 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine is available in three manual trims – RXE, RXS, and RXZ, while the CVT variant is available in two trims – RXS and RXZ. Duster turbo petrol is offered in seven color choices such as Cayenne black, Caspian blue, Mahogany brown, Moonlight red, Slate gray, Bronze outback, and White pearl.
The 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine produces 152bhp at 5500rpm and a torque of 254Nm at 1.600rpm. The manual transmission promises to get 16.5kmpl for fuel quality, while the CVT variant returns 16.42kmpl. The latest Duster now comes with a remote pre-cooling feature that allows customers to turn on the engine and activate air conditioning just before entering the car. Besides, the SUV has a Smart Start / Stop feature which automatically turns off the engine when the car is stopped and restarts on the detection of driver demands.
The RXZ top-spec variant is limited to safety features such as rear wiper and washer and reverse parking camera with guidelines. The base RXE version lacks features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, speakers, touchscreen infotainment system, and the ice-blue graphic instrument cluster with a Multi-information system and more.
