The automobile manufacturer Tata Motors announced the technical specifications of Tata Zica, the upcoming budget hatchback model at a media reveal that took place in Goa. When it comes to the dimensions, the Tata Zica has a length of 3,746 mm, width of 1,647 mm and height of 1,535 mm. The wheelbase of the vehicle is 2,400 mm. The vehicle will ride on the 175/65 R14 allot wheels and it is claimed to have a ground clearance that is set at 170 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the Tata Zica budget hatchback is 35 litres.
The diesel variant of the Tata vehicle is powered by an all new 1.05 litre three cylinder Revotorq common rail diesel engine that is teamed up with Multi Drive. The vehicle’s aluminum head is cast on an iron block unit that displaces 1,047 cc and renders a maximum power of 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 140 Nm between 1,800 rpm and 3,000 rpm. The Tata Zica’s kerb weight is rated to be at 1,080 kg.
Tata emphasizes on the vehicle’s Eco and City driving modes on the diesel engine, low maintenance cost, and its seamless torque delivery.
Talking about the petrol variant of the Tata Zica, the budget hatchback vehicle is powered by a new 1.2 litre three cylinder Revotron engine with Multi Drive and MPFI. The aluminum engine is capable of displacing 1,199 cc and churning a maximum power of 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The petrol variant of Zica measures 1,012 kg in weight.
The Tata Zica will be positioned below the Bolt and it is likely to have its market launch sometime in the first week of January next year. As it is a budget model, it will be priced quite attractively.
