Amazon recently launched free content streaming app MiniTV in India

Amazon.com, Inc. is an American multinational technology company based in Seattle, Washington, which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. The company has been referred to as one of the most influential economic and cultural forces in the world. Recently, Amazon is launching ad-supported video streaming service, named miniTV only for Indian audiences.

It’s a different offering than its separate Amazon Prime Video service, as MiniTV is contained within Amazon’s traditional shopping app, rather than its own standalone app. MiniTV’s catalog includes mostly older content which partners made originally for YouTube and other platforms. The lineup includes beauty and fashion content, tech news, and cooking shows, and Amazon’s partners for the channel include Indian web content studios Pocket Aces and TVF, and list of well-known Indian comedians. The service is absolutely free, and as of now, is only available to Android users. The iOS and mobile web versions are expected to roll out in the coming months. Amazon India has tied up with leading studios such as TVF and Pocket Aces. The e-commerce major has also partnered with popular content creators that include Ashish Chanchlani, Amit Bhadana, Round2Hell, Harsh Beniwal, Shruti Arjun Anand, Elvish Yadav, Prajakta Koli, Swagger Sharma, Aakash Gupta and Nishant Tanwar. MiniTV also has content from channels such as Kabita’s Kitchen, Cook with Nisha and Gobble. Technology influencer Trakin Tech will tell you everything that’s happening in the world of gadgets. Fashion and beauty creators Sejal Kumar, Malvika Sitlani, Jovita George, Prerna Chhabra and ShivShakti will ensure that your style game is always on point. miniTV will continue adding exciting and exclusive content in the coming months.

With miniTV, Amazon can compete in the free video streaming market. Apart from Shopping, miniTV and PrimeVideo, Amazon has been offering various other services in India like Amazon Music, Amazon books. Not long ago Amazon partnered with Bharti Airtel and launched Prime Video Mobile Edition. Amazon Prime has nearly 10 Mn uses in India, of which only 40% of the users pay for their membership while others are members because of bundled subscriptions.
