Applause Entertainment is a part of the Aditya Birla Group. it has announced its expansion in the southern market with an office in Chennai. With this big entry, the company is planning to further develop its South content investment and creation strategies.
The company has Appointed Pramod Cheruvalath who would be taking up the role of content head of the Southern industry. The company has also appointed Pramod uvalath who will be working as content head of the Southern industry. Cheruvalath will be responsible for taking up Applause Entertainment’s content plan in all four markets in the south. This is to create a diversified plan of high-quality series and movies across all languages.
Cheruvalath had moved from Sign of Life Productions, where he had been a director and a producer. He has spent over 22 years in the company and has gained many years of experience in this field. Sameer Nair is the CEO of Applause Entertainment and says, “The global streamer has been creating flat earth and indeed, a global village. The Contents from every geography and in every language have the opportunity to reach audiences everywhere. After our many successes in the Hindi and the Hinglish category, we are now really keen to work with the amazing talents from the languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada to tell rooted authentic stories that are on domestic and international stages. On-boarding with Pramod to oversee the expansion will be our first step in the area of direction. His extensive network, market knowledge, and creative expertise will be helpful in building our unique hub and speaking business model in the key Southern markets”.
