Eye-Q, a leading hospital eye care chain, is celebrating its 16th year of establishment with a campaign called #seebright. In honour of the milestone, the brand announced an exclusive 16% discount on cataract surgery for patients over the age of 50 in the regions of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi & NCR, and Gujarat. The response to the campaign was overwhelmingly positive, and the brand performed free eye examinations for over 9000 people.
The founder and CMD of Eye-Q, Dr Ajay Sharma, expressed his gratitude for the successful journey of the brand and stated that it would not have been possible without the assistance and dedication of their doctors and paramedic staff. He also expressed his hope that their journey with Eye-Q would continue for many years to come.
Out of the 9000 people who received free eye exams, the brand was able to offer cataract treatment to over 1500 cases that were identified. Eye-Q has always been at the forefront of ensuring the right to sight for all citizens, especially as India struggles with a high burden of blindness. Cataracts are the most prevalent cause of blindness in the elderly, affecting more than 60% of those over the age of 50.
Rajat Goel, Co-founder & CEO of Eye-Q, explained that delays in recognizing the need for a surgical procedure can lead to several complications, including lens-induced glaucoma, which can prevent vision recovery even after surgery. Hence, Eye-Q took the initiative to provide a discount on cataract surgery for those in desperate need.
In addition to the #seebright campaign, Eye-Q will also be accepting patients for cataract surgery under Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). Patients can also avail of the quality eye-care service through health EMI cards.
