BARC Data: Competition struggles to catch up with News18 India

New Delhi: Continuing its dominance in the Hindi News segment in the country, News18 India has once again outdone the competition, 15-weeks running. The channel has also led the most sought-after Prime Time slot, by securing more than three times the market share of ABP News.

As per the BARC data (Market Share% 24hrs TG:15+, India, Week 40-43’22, All Day), News18 India has maintained its lead with 15.7 %, followed by TV9 Bharatvarsh at 13.7%, Aaj Tak 12.5 % and India TV accounting for 12.2%.

News18 India has continued its dominance in the coveted Prime Time slot, with the channel amassing 16.4% market share as per the BARC data (Market Share%, 1800- 2400hrs, TG:15+ HSM, week 40-43’22, All days). Meanwhile TV9 Bharatvarsh, Aaj Tak and India TV managed 14.9%, 12.4% and 12.1% respectively.

News18 India’s Kishore Ajwani also continued his dominance in the prestigious 9-10PM band, ahead of India TV’s Rajat Sharma and Aaj Tak’s star anchor Sudhir Chaudhary. While News18 India dominated the news segment with 18.5% market share, India TV managed 15.9 %, followed by Republic Bharat with 14.3% and Aaj Tak with 13.6% respectively as per BARC data (Market Share%, 2100- 2200hrs, TG:15+ HSM, week 40-43’22, Mon-Fri).

In terms of overall reach as well, News18 India has been giving a stiff competition to the top General Entertainment Channels, according to the weekly BARC data.

News18 has been heavily investing in technology and editorial resources to ensure that its content and presentation remains uniquely curated for the audience and far ahead of the competition.

Even on the digital front, the News18 brands have been garnering solid traction with its views increasing steadily across YouTube and other social media platforms.
