Jan 17, 2013: Barista Lavazza Cafe which is known for its range of coffee will now be known for one more thing if the plans materialise like what is envisioned. Barista Lavazza is planning to sell ice creams through its cafe and the ice creams that would be sold are Hockey Pockey Ice Creams. Hockey Pockey ice creams which is promoted by Drums Food International is doing a pilot study for this. The ice creams are now being sold in Barista Lavazza cafe in Bandra Bandstand and if this pilot study succeeds, it will soon be introduced in 300 stores across India. With this introduction of ice creams in its cafe, Barista has become the first coffee chain to sell ice creams. Though this practice is very common in US, Canada and all, in India this is first. This tie up of Drums Food International is not an exclusive tie up with Barista Lavazza and they are looking forward to tie up with other coffee chains as Cafe Coffee Day as well.
