“We’re sure that the league will give ample openings for players to showcase their class and gift. We thank all the mates for their support as we look forward to a fruitful initial edition of the TATA Women’s Premier League,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah was quoted as saying in the release. The Tata Group also holds the title backing rights for the Indian Premier League, filling in for Vivo for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Viacom18 had earlier bagged the broadcast rights — both TV and digital — on a five-time deal worth Rs 951 crore. also, the BCCI vented the five sharing votes for a total sum of Rs669 crores, making the WPL the second-most precious T20 league in the world after the IPL.

The player transaction had also taken place before this month, in which swashbuckling Indian nature Smriti Mandhana brought the loftiest shot of Rs3.4 crore from the Royal contenders Bangalore.
