Schools receive essential writing and coloring tools to support self-expression in education

(New Delhi, India | 08 December 2022): BIC Cello, India’s most recognized brand and leading manufacturer and distributor of writing instruments, has concluded its commemoration of Global Education Week 2022. Stemming from its commitment to improving learning conditions for 250 million students by 2025, BIC Cello engaged with thousands of students in India through product donations and engaging activities.

In addition to product donations, BIC Cello team members visited select schools across the country kicking-off creative and educational activities at their premises. The team has also engaged with special needs children, leveraging its product portfolio to bring out their creative skills. Career guidance was provided to youth in industrial training institutions in support of India’s upcoming generation. Through the activities more than 100 thousand products were donated and thousands of students impacted.

Commenting on the occasionManos Nikolakis, General Manager at BIC Cello, said: “Using pen and paper remains fundamental in education and a proven way to unlock lifelong learning benefits. By stocking classrooms with writing instruments, we contribute towards the challenge of the lack of resources in education, allowing families and schools to provide for their children and students to have the tools that would help them reach their best potential.”

BIC’s Global Education Week is now in its fifth edition and is one of five major commitments set in 2018 as part of Writing The Future, Together, the Company’s forward-looking sustainability program. Each year, BIC reimagines its giving strategy to identify and fill operational or financial gaps where it matters most, based on real-time needs in the communities where it operates.
