BMW unveils 'BMW Vision i Dee' , a stunning rainbow car

BMW Unveiled An Interesting And Futuristic New Concept of a Color-Changing Car. A year ago, BMW exhibited what it called the world’s first color-changing car at CES. The exterior of the iX Flow concept had e-ink panels that could switch colors between black and gray with remarkable patterns. Within a year, BMW took its E ink-powered color-changing idea from being monochromatic to having a full rainbow of 32 diverse colors and tints.

BMW introduced the concept of a vehicle that speaks like a person, adjusts color to the driver’s mood, and has dashboard displays. It’s the first color-changing car, and to appreciate it, you must see it. The BMW i Vision Dee, which stands for “Digital Emotional Experience” has 260 panels on the entire car that can change to 32 different shades and tints. While it is only a concept car right now, the manufacturer claims that the production of the impressive technology may be closer than you think.

The automobile uses the concept of e-ink technology which enables drivers to instantaneously change the color of their vehicle with the push of a button. The concept is the same as the technology that powers Amazon’s extremely popular and widely used e-reader, the Kindle, to change colors instantly, rather than traditional metal panels. The automobile has tiny microcapsules in a film coating that contains pigments that change color when electricity is applied. The best part about this new invention is it anchors the same low-power screen technology that e-book reader uses.

The concept was shown live during “Consumers Electronics Show(CES) this week in Las Vegas using a modified BMW iX, the company’s new flagship electric SU. Attendees captured stunning videos of the car changing color in real-time. People are excited about this futuristic idea of color-changing cars and also fantasize about using this automobile. This CES concept car’s windscreen provides a view of “mixed reality,” and its 32 body colors may be changed using e-ink technology. Even if this is simply a concept that BMW plans to concentrate on in the next years, it nonetheless offers a look into the possibilities for the future.
