Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto graces occasion
Bossjob, the chat-first career platform for professional hiring in Southeast Asia (SEA), laid out the roadmap for over 2,000 job seekers on navigating the job market with 5,000 job vacancies available, following a successful joint collaboration with Philippine Dragon Media Network (PDMN) for Merged Job Fair 2024 on July 13-14, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
The Merged Job Fair 2024 welcomed thousands of attendees seeking career opportunities from over 70 top local and global companies.
The event was made possible with support from its gold sponsor JTI Philippines and silver sponsors KMC Solutions Inc. and Sparc Properties and Realty Corporation. It also collaborated with educational institutions, namely Chiang Kai Shek College, Santa Isabel College, STI College, Jose Rizal University, National Teachers College, and Philippine Women’s University, as well as community partners such as the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), Human Resource Educators’ Association of the Philippines (HREAP), and KAYA Founders.
The Merged Job Fair 2024 was also supported by key government agencies, including the Pasay City Government, Pasay PESO, Pasay DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Esteemed media outlets ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), Blogapalooza, Chinatown TV, CHInoyTV, Manila Bulletin, Philippine Daily Inquirer, The Business Manual, The Manila Times, and WhenInManila.com served as the event’s media partners.
Key guests and event organizers, including Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto, FFCCCII Vice President David Chua, Bossjob Country Manager Kimberly Chen, and PDMN Editor-in-Chief Peterson Ang, officially inaugurated the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The two-day event featured keynote talks and panel discussions aimed at providing valuable insights into the job market and enhancing employability. On the first day, a panel discussion on navigating the future workforce covered crucial aspects such as job hopping, work culture, and retention strategies for Gen Z. Panelists included Canva Philippines Regional People Lead Alvanson So, Payreto Services Inc. VP People Mhikko Ilagan, Remotely Philippines CEO Eduard Ortega, and Lee Hecht Harrison Managing Director Jed Dominguez. Discussions also delved into cultivating positive workplace culture and emerging recruitment trends.
On the second day, a panel on brand building and talent retention strategies was led by Bossjob’s Kimberly Chen, Hann Resorts AVP for HR Ana Christi Galura, HeyApril HR Executive Aileen Gallinero, and De Castro Consulting Founder Atty. Arlene De Castro. Attendees also received tips on effective job searching and standing out beyond the resume.
One of the event’s main highlights was the participation of government agencies providing assistance with requirements, including PhilHealth, SSS, and Pag-IBIG. Attendees were also able to register for a national ID, thanks to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
Additionally, Bossjob conducted workshops to equip attendees with essential skills for navigating the job market. Activities included a career advice desk for resume building and job searching tips, a mock interview booth to enhance interview skills and confidence, and a professional photo booth for taking job application photos.
