Dec 23, 2012: In a report by Gartner Inc., Branded mobile apps are going to take the market by storm and it is going to be the next big thing by 2015. According to the study, 33 per cent of consumer brands by 2015 will start using branded mobile apps to integrate payment. Many a companies have launched their branded mobile apps so as to offer product information, check loyalty points etc. Some have even started integrating payments as part of helping consumers to take effective purchase decisions.
Gartner predicts that in emerging markets text messages are going to play an important part whereas in developed markets it would be mobile apps. Customers might also prefer a aggregator app rather than individual apps in future and companies coming out with branded apps would have to face stiff competition against these aggregator apps.
