BSNL launches “Bharat Phone PF300” with e-governance applications at Rs.1,099

June 8, 2014: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) on Friday launched a smart phone branded as “Bharat Phone” with e-governance applications. Targeted at the common man, this low cost version smart phone has been launched at an aggressive price of Rs.1,099 and this makes it all the more affordable. Bharat Phone has got a three inch large screen display and supports dual SIM card.

The smart phone designed by Pantel Technologies has got mobile banking, tele healthcare delivery and streaming data delivery applications inbuilt in the phone. Apart from these features Bharat Phone has host of other features as well like:

  • 1.3 mega pixel rear camera
  • Bluetooth for quick sharing of files
  • a lithium-ion battery with eight-hour charge and 15 days standby
  • 64MB random access memeory (RAM)
  • 64MB of internal storage
  • SMS scheduler
  • multimedia gaming and
  • mobile tracker

On the occasion of the launch BSNL Chairman RK Upadhyay was quoted as saying “The low-cost mobile device will alter the Indian feature phone industry as it has been designed especially for e-governance applications and optimised for internet access to empower common man.” He further added that “As the phone is pre-bundled with attractive voice plan, the mobile handset offers common man the power of internet access at an affordable price and will benefit a wide section of society.”

The new smartphone from BSNL can be used to browse, access Facebook, download music, video and games as well.
