BSNL launches XGen personal & Enterprise, a locally designed and developed e-mail service

May 18, 2014: BSNL in a completely new twist announced the launch of a locally designed and developed e-mail service- XGen personal and enterprise. Developed by Data Infosys this new e-mail service can be availed by 7.5 million BSNL broadband subscribers across the country. XGen has more than 100 new features in the e-mail service and the servers will be offered by Data Infosys through its data centre in Jaipur.

The new XGen e-mail service of BSNL will have host of new features most powerful of them being Rights Management. According to Ajay Data, CEO, Data Infosys, “One of its most powerful features is Rights Management, which empowers the sender to control actions of deleting, forwarding, replying and printing of the e-mail by the recipient.” Users can exchange 5,000 mails per day and files up to one GB can be attached or sent.

The other features of new XGen e-mail service by BSNL include:

  • One Time Password
  • Dual authentication for advanced security
  • Multiple e-mail compose
  • Image compression
  • Secured hidden attachments & encryption and
  • Personalised group e-mail

The users will be able to upgrade the account and use host of features like group mail, mobile chat client, SMS, group mail etc. by paying extra charges.
