August 25, 2023: The Business Today India@100 Summit, to be held in New Delhi on August 26, 2023, will feature a host of Indian and global leaders who will discuss India’s aspiration to become a US$26 trillion economy by its 100th year of Independence in 2047. The day-long event will feature power-packed sessions that will take stock of the country’s journey thus far, particularly in the context of India’s G20 presidency. The 2nd BT India@100 Summit serves as a platform to articulate a pathway towards a shared global future characterized by collective prosperity.

Among the sessions planned for the day, the first one will be on ‘Building Tomorrow’s Roads Today’, with Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways. It will be followed by Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President, Microsoft, talking about ‘How Can AI Change India and the World’.

The next session on ‘Driving into the Digital Future’ will feature Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State, Electronics & Information Technology, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, which will be followed by Borge Brende, President, World Economic Forum, sharing his views on ‘Why the World Bets on India’. 

Next, India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant will talk about India’s G20 presidency and how it has presented the country a unique opportunity to demonstrate its long-term vision and plans for the next decade in the session ‘Towards Achieving Global Leadership’. This will be followed by a session titled ‘$40 Trillion Indian Stock Market by 2047’ with Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO,  NSE.

The post-lunch proceedings kick off with a session called ‘A Bright Future Powered by Renewables’ that will feature Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power Company Ltd; Deepak Sharma, MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India; Vineet Mittal, Chairman, Avaada Group; and Kamran Khan, Managing Director & Head of ESG for Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank Group. This will be followed by one on ‘India: The World’s Consumption Hub’ with Jayen Mehta, MD, Amul; Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC in India; and Manish Sharma, Chairman & CEO, Panasonic India. 

Next, Gautam Kumra, Chairman – Asia, McKinsey & Company and Sven Smit Chair, McKinsey Global Institute will talk about ‘Growth Goals for the G20’. This will be followed by Union Minister of Civil Aviation & Steel Jyotiraditya Scindia holding forth on ‘Giving Wings to A Billion Indians’.

The next session, titled ‘Building a Resilient Bharat’, will feature Baba Kalyani, Chairman & MD, Bharat Forge Ltd and Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Cyient Ltd, followed by ‘An Alternative View of India@100’ with P Chidambaram, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. The next session will see Kunal Bahl, Co-Founder, Acevector Group & Titan Capital; Rajan Navani, CMD, Jetline Group of Companies; Trivikraman Thampy, Co-Founder & Co-CEO, Games24x7; and Ankit Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO, ideaForge Technology deliberate on ‘A Tech-Led Future for Every Indian’. This will be followed by a session on ‘The Path To Global Economic Leadership’ featuring Ambassador (Ret.) Atul Keshap, President, USIBC, and Gautam Chikermane, Vice President, Observer Research Foundation.

Next, Jayant Sinha, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, BJP; Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance in Parliament; and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Third Time Sitting MP; Member CWC; Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee, Jurist; National Spokesperson, Congress, will talk about ‘India’s Economic Destiny’. This will be followed by the final session of the day, titled ‘Reaching for the Stars’ with Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Science & Technology.
