Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance and Star Cardiac Care Platinum Insurance are two new variations of Star Health and Allied Insurance’s products. These items cater to the needs of persons who have been diagnosed with cancer or heart disease.
There is no pre-medical testing required under these regulations. However, at the time of purchase of the policy, the insured must provide previous medical documents of treatment received. Premiums can be paid quarterly, half-yearly, or annually, and policies can be renewed indefinitely.
Cancer Care Platinum is a type of insurance for people who have been diagnosed with cancer and are surviving it. It covers expenses spent due to hospitalization for cancer and non-cancer-related diseases.
Key Features of Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance Policy
A sum insured of up to Rs. 10,00,000 is available. Policyholders can choose a sum insured of Rs 500,000, Rs 7,50,000, or Rs 100,000.
Available to cancer patients aged 5 months to 65 years. It Covers in-patient hospitalization, daycare treatment, road ambulance, and pre and post-hospitalization expenses.
Lump-sum Cancer Coverage — if the covered person has a recurrence, metastasis, or second malignancy that is unrelated to first cancer, the insurer will pay a lump sum payment. It is important to note that this benefit is in addition to the indemnity sum insured.
A 30-month waiting period applies to cancer treatments and lump-sum benefit coverage.
Hospice Care — In Oncology, hospice care focuses on improving the quality of life of patients (as well as their caregivers) who are suffering from advanced, life-limiting cancers. On an indemnity basis, up to 20% of the sum insured is payable at network providers once in a lifetime. Available after a 12-month waiting period from the policy’s start.
Renewal Benefits:
For each claim-free year, the insured will receive a cumulative bonus of 5% of the basic sum insured, up to a maximum of 50% of the basic sum insured.
For a person aged 36 years, the premium (without GST) for Rs. 10,00,000 sum insured is Rs. 23,605.
Cardiac Care-Platinum: Health insurance for people who have been diagnosed with heart problems. After 30 days of policy start, covers expenses incurred due to hospitalization for cardiac and non-cardiac conditions.
Key Features of Star Cardiac Care Insurance Policy – Platinum
A maximum sum insured of Rs 15,00,000 is offered. Customers can choose between sums insured at Rs 5,000, Rs 7, 50,000, Rs 10,00,000, and Rs 15,00,000.
Available to anyone aged 7 to 70 who have been diagnosed with cardiac illnesses. Cardiac disorders have a 30-day waiting period. In-patient hospitalization, day-care treatment, road ambulance, and pre-and post-hospitalization fees are all covered.
After a 24-month waiting period, expenses for heart transplantation are covered up to 200%t of the Sum Insured.
Renewal Benefits:
Cumulative bonus of 10% of the basic sum insured for each claim-free year, up to a maximum of 100% of the basic sum covered for each claim-free year.
Rs 10, 00,000 for a person aged 50 years. The premium (without GST) for the insured is Rs 31,035.
