Amazon launched its first full-size store Amazon fresh with ‘Just walk out’ technology in Bellevue, Washington which allows customers to simply come to the store, pick up whatever item they want, and skip the checkout when they are done.

At last, whatever customers had purchased will add to their virtual card and if they remove something it will simultaneously get removed from the virtual card. Through the virtual cart, every item gets billed and a final digital receipt is sent to the customer. People who hate to spend hours in grocery shopping will this simple process of Amazon fresh. The traditional option of the counter will also be available for everyone, they just need to choose between both before entering the store.

Amazon shares the technology with third-party retailers like Delaware North, OTG CIBO Express, and Hudson markets. They will roll out this technology in different locations.

This new Amazon fresh store will be 25000 square foot much bigger than the Amazon Go that opened last year which is approx. 10,400 square feet. Big overhead cameras, pressure-sensitive shelves installed automatically detect what customers put in their carts and helps to scale up the size of the store.

Amazon Fresh will not use High- tech Dash shopping cart as Amazon fresh grocery store uses which was launched in August last year. They didn’t clear anything about the implementation of just walk-out technology in existing stores in the US. However, in the UK, the technology can be seen in Fresh-branded locations that are similar in size to Amazon’s Go stores in the US. Till now the company had 13 Amazon Fresh stores since August 2020 in Virginia., Illinois and California.
