A two-day on-ground camp upskilled over 500 truck drivers

Castrol India Limited, India’s premier lubricant manufacturer, has embarked on its next endeavour to empower Indian truck drivers with the launch of its purpose-led initiative, ‘Castrol CRB TURBOMAX Pragati Ki Paathshaala’. The initiative is aimed at spurring entrepreneurial zeal and enhancing professional competencies of truck drivers with its on-ground leg targeted to upskill over 10,000 truckers across India. With two days of on-ground Paathshaalas in Chennai, the ‘Castrol CRB TURBOMAX Pragati Ki Paathshaala’ initiative has upskilled over 500 truck drivers through insightful and interactive knowledge sessions.

The initiative’s on-site camp in Chennai, comprised engaging educational and entertaining activities for truck drivers in the city. The knowledge sessions were organised to upskill truckers in four key aspects – Driving Safety, Truck Ownership, New Technology, and Business Profitability–empowering them to #BadhteRahoAagey.

Castrol India has consistently extended support for the progress and success of the trucking community which is instrumental in moving the wheels of the Indian economy. The ‘Castrol CRB TURBOMAX Pragati Ki Paathshaala’ initiative, an extension of its recent marketing campaign ‘#BadhteRahoAagey’, helps reinforce the commitment.

Mr. Sandeep Sangwan, Managing Director of Castrol India, said, “The trucking community has always been an integral part of Castrol India, and we have been continuously striving to ensure their safety and livelihood through transformative initiatives. With this initiative, we want to empower and inspire truck drivers to become ‘Chalak Se Malak’. We are thrilled to receive an encouraging response from Chennai which has encouraged us to organise such programmes in the future for the well-being of the trucking community.”

The ‘Castrol CRB TURBOMAX Pragati Ki Paathshaala’ initiative was supported by local transporters and associations in Chennai. After the successful conclusion of the two-day programme, over 500 truck drivers were honoured with certification of participation and reflective stickers that can be placed on their trucks, encouraging them to Drive Safe and #BadhteRahoAagey.

The ‘Castrol CRB TURBOMAX Pragati Ki Paathshaala, a two-and-a-half-month campaign, began from Ghaziabad (UP) and Kalamboli (Maharashtra) with two specially designed trucks taking different routes to cover all the four regions across India. Till now, the ‘Castrol CRB TURBOMAX Pragati Ki Paathshaala’ initiative has upskilled over 9,400 truck drivers during its journey.
