The Central Government has again extended the deadline for filing and completing the Annual Performance Assessment Report (APAR) of Group A, B, and C Officers for the year 2020-21.
Due to the situation arising out of the Covid-19 lockdowns, the Central Government has again extended the deadline for filing and completing the Annual Performance Assessment Report (APAR) 2020 -21, for Group A, B, and C officers in the Central Civil Service.
According to the expanded timeline, the entire APAR process will be completed by March 31, 2022. Earlier, the deadline to complete the APAR process was December 31, 2021. Because of the present situation, it has been decided to extend the deadline for distribution / online generation, recording, and completion of the Anual Performance Assessment Report for Group A, B, and C officers in the Central Civil Service for the year 2020- 21 time scale.
The DoPT also clarified that the extended time frame for the year 2020-21 APAR will also apply to the reporting/reviewing/receiving authorities who have retired from the office or retired from service on or after 28.02.2021. They will be allowed to record their comments until the relevant extended cut-off dates.
DoPT informed that the Office Memorandum video of 14.06.2021 has decided on the recording and completion of APR for the year 2020-21 from the annual medical examination and thereafter the summary of the medical report will be submitted by 31.12.2021.
Earlier, DoPT had extended the APAR time limit for Group A, B, and C officers in the CSS, CSSS, and CSCS through the Sparrow Portal for the year 2020-21.
Based on DoPT Office Memorandum, “In light of the situation arising out of Covid-19, the Anual Performance Assessment Report process for the year 2020-21 has been decided with the approval of the competent authority to extend the deadline for distribution / online generation, recording, and completion.”
A DoPT Office Memorandum (OM) clarifies the one-time action taken in the Appendix on all Group A, B, and C officers of Central Government. The exemption is subject to the condition that no reference is made to the APAR in the year 2020-21 after 31.12.2021.
