For more than a decade now, the French company has wanted to enter the Indian market for the second time and has at different times toyed with its selection of brands and vehicles that it will sell in India. It has periodically tested its hatchbacks in the country and its MPVs at other times. But with its on-the-spot connection with the CK Birla Group, it signed its India brand and product plans and announced the rollout. The pandemic, however, has postponed its plans for a new vehicle last year, so now the company is able to launch the C5 Aircross. The C5 Aircross is just slightly longer in size than the Hyundai Tucson and the Jeep Compass, but shorter than both the CR-V Honda and the Tiguan Allspace Volkswagen.

Design and Style

The Citroen C5 Aircross is a fun car with smooth lines, a pleasant and symmetrical front end, and easily visible style markings, in the words of the Citroen designers. These, of course, offer the SUV a personality that is all it’s own and lends itself to customization as well. The front pseudo air intakes represent the ends of the tailpipe while the same theme is taken to the sides as well as the stylistic features that were previously seen on the C4 Cactus and the C3 in the shape of the air bumps on the lower sills. And not only that but the LED tail-lamps are also the motif of the rectangular type markers. The two-tone diamond-cut 18-in alloys of the Swirl design give the car beauty as well as the right height. The C5 Aircross will be available in 7 colors, three of which have a dual-tone roof option.

 Interiors

The C5 Aircross is beautiful and plush to look at on the inside. The USP of Citroen is comfort and the seats also look different, providing extra padding to deliver on the promise of the car. Also, the rear is not the usual 60:40 split seen in most cars or the 40:20:40 split seen in more premium vehicles, but a 33.3:33.3:33.3 split that makes it the same size with three different individual seats. The front and back of each seat are both individually adjustable and also for reclining. They are a snug match for an average-sized adult, considering the size of the vehicle and the side support on both of these seats. The boot is wide and this Aircross provides over 1600 litres of luggage space with one of the three rear seats being completely foldable.

But what differentiates the interiors is the wide 12.3-in display for the instrument panel with displays that show the style markers again. The screen comes with 3 default customizations and it can be customized to the driver’s preference with a further 3 ambiance modes. The 8-in touchscreen for the infotainment system looks very tiny and natural, but the dashboard’s overall style gives it a look that fits its SUV status.
