Amazon.in has announced a collaboration with the Coffee Board of India, along with the launch of select premium coffee brands on the A.in marketplace. The Coffee Board of India is an organization for the coffee industry in the country and is managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Through this collaboration, a premium range of coffee from India’s coffee-producing regions, including Karnataka, will be available on Amazon.in, including 100% Arabica, Arabica & Robusta Blend, Chikmagalur, and Coorg Arabica. Customers can expect exciting offers on Amazon.in to buy their favorite beverage online as India’s coffee culture increases. With this partnership, sellers and small businesses stand to benefit from increased customer demand, product discovery, and higher sales ahead of the festivities.
“We are happy to be collaborating with the Coffee Board of India to provide our customers with a wide range of premium quality coffee on Amazon.in.” This is consistent with our goal of providing our consumers with the convenience of safe and quick delivery at a reasonable price. Indian brands perceive value in collaborating with us and selling on A.in, and this offering is an extension of that. “Ahead of the Festive season, associations like these will help Amazon.in providing a wider range of regional products for customers that showcase India’s rich socio-cultural fabric,” said Nishant Raman, Director – IN Consumables, Amazon India.
“We are now expanding our reach by launching four premium coffees under the ‘India Coffee’ brand, including Coorg Arabica Coffee (GI), Chikmagalur Arabica Coffee (GI), 100% Arabica coffee, A blend of Arabica and Robusta, and affordable coffees under the ‘Coffees of India’ brand.” The Coffee Board’s partnership with Amazon is designed to increase domestic coffee consumption. Dr. K.G. Jagadeesha, IAS, CEO & Secretary, Coffee Board of India, says, “Our coffees are sourced from the best coffee estates to satisfy the taste of millions of coffee connoisseurs across the country.”
India’s coffee exports increased by 90% between April and June 2022 when compared to the same period in FY 2013–14. India, the seventh-largest coffee-producing country in the world, exports 70% of its production. With seven Geographical Indication (GI) approved coffees that are sold internationally, India has established a niche for itself as a region recognized as the source of premium coffee. The Coffee Board of India is strengthening the domestic appeal for pure coffee in India as concerns about international price volatility prevail.
