Continental Introduces New Premium Car Tyre Lines in India

The global tyre manufacturer and automotive supplier, Continental has announced the launch of a newly developed passenger car tyre series in the Indian market. The latest offerings include Conti Maxx, Conti Comfort Contact CC5 and Contact MC5. These tyre lines are designed with the help of German engineering and technology, claims the tyre maker.

For these new PLT tyres, Continental has set up  new state of the art manufacturing plant at its existing tyre plant located at Modipuram that has an initial capacity of 8,00,000 tyres per annum. Also, there is enough potential to expand this capacity further.

Talking about the new range, the Conti Comfort Contact CC5 tyre is designed to cater to the needs of compact and mid sized passenger cars. The product uses advanced silica compound technology that the tyre maker claims to minimize the rolling resistant and help in enhancing the fuel efficiency.

Furthermore, the company claims that the product will differentiate with noise breaker from the silent tread pattern groove technology. This design with lateral grooves with asymmetrical pattern rib helps in lowering the road noise and providing a comfortable drive in wet and dry conditions as well.

On the other hand, the Conti Max Contact MC5 is dedicated to the high-end mid-sized and executive passenger car segment. As per the firm, this product made with German engineering has characteristic features including asymmetrical tread pattern, new activated silica compound technology, chamfered blocks, vibration and harshness performance and an innovative design for low noise.

It is claimed that these features will make sure that the tyre delivers superior high-speed handling and provide the best braking performance with high grip, low noise and maximum comfort even in wet and dry conditions.

The new premium tyre lines launched by Continental are targeted towards rendering great performance that is demanded by the premium customers across the passenger car and SUV segments from compact and executive vehicles as well. Continental has already established a very strong dealership network of over 423 dealers with over 30 aligned branded shops spread across the major cities inIndia. The network is planning to expand its products and services across the country.

The premium tyre line replacement market in the country has a sales volume of 1.4 crore units per year and it is believed to grow over three crore by 2025. This market segment represents a market share of about 28 percent of the total Indian replacement market volume.
