Kakinada: Coromandel International Limited (BSE: 506395, NSE: COROMANDEL), India’s leading Agri solutions provider is in the business of Fertilisers, Crop Protection Chemicals, Bio Products, Specialty Nutrients, Organic Fertilisers and Retail, today announced the inauguration of two community initiatives in the city – an RO plant at BC Colony, Vakalapudi and two (2) additional classrooms at the Government High School, Vakalapudi.
Coromandel believes in the welfare of all its stakeholders and regularly works on various CSR activities in Kakinada. Since the year 2014, Coromandel has been supporting the Kakinada General Hospital Paediatric ward by providing and maintaining the Intensive Care Unit and Neo-Natal Intensive care unit for babies. Coromandel also provides affordable medical care to the society through Coromandel Hospital at Kakinada. In addition to medical support, Coromandel is running a program for providing scholarships for 130 girls in Kakinada, supporting the infrastructure development in 7 govt schools of Kakinada by providing them with safe drinking water, hand wash stations, toilets, classrooms etc. Coromandel has also supported the women’s self-help groups by providing tailoring machines and training to the groups and improved the community infra structure in nearby villages by constructing 2 Community Halls and Anganwadi centres.
The community initiative inaugurations were done in the presence of senior officials from Coromandel International Limited including Mr. Amir Alvi, EVP & Head – Manufacturing (Fertilisers); Mr. Srinivasa Rao, Senior AVP & Head – Manufacturing (Kakinada); Mr. G. S. V. Raja, AVP & HR Head – Manufacturing (Fertilisers & SSP); Mr. Rangakumar K., AVP – HR; Mr. K. Satyanarayana, VP & Head – Corporate Relations & Institutional Sales and Ms. Amrita Shrivastava, DGM – CSR.

Coromandel is deeply engaged with farmers across its focus markets through a dedicated Agronomy team which works on advising farmers on the right kind of nutrients to be used to get the best results. The Agronomy team works with Farmers and educates them about best practices in terms of input usage through events such as farmer meetings, farmer field visits, soil tests etc. The company has 55 ‘Nutri Clinics’ which act as a one-stop solution for all farmer queries as well as providing services like soil testing, field visits, drone spraying etc. Coromandel is also evaluating new technologies like Drone technologies and is currently assessing how these technologies can be used to support the farmer through activities such as spraying of nutrients.
