Anil Kumble, the ace leg spin bowler, donned a teacher’s hat and volunteered to teach kids who participate in the P&G Shiksha Diwas. The flagship program of P&G is back this year and this year kids got a chance of learning state-of-the-art techniques from the ace cricketer. The cricketer turned teacher caught everyone’s attention, and the teacher in Anil Kumble went on to teach some science to kids.

He took kids by surprise by turning a glass of water upside down and showing how water in it defied gravity. He explained the science behind that. The air pressure outside is high compared to the air pressure inside the glass, and when the glass is closed tight with a cardboard without any air bubbles, it defies gravity and stays in place when turned upside down.

The kids who took part in the program were completely bowled over by their new teacher. An engineering graduate by education, Anil Kumble taught science to students with some fun elements. The cricketer has a noble vision of empowering underprivileged children by education. This is the first time that the cricketer is associating himself with P&G Shiksha.

P&G Sikhsha provides education for underprivileged children by encouraging its customers to contribute. P&G Shiksha School not only discovered a teacher in Anil Kumble, but also inspired kids. P&G Shiksha has impacted the lives of 385,000 children so far in association with Non-Governmental Organizations like Save the Children (STC), Army Wives Welfare Association (AAWA), and Round Table India (RTI) etc.

P&G Shiksha also aims to build schools in India aiming at providing a better education infrastructure in the country. A report published in 2012 shows that the Indian literacy rate is 74.02% compared to the global average of 84%.
