CyberPeace organises Jharkhand’s first ever eSports League
CyberPeace and CyberPeace Cafe on Sunday organised the much anticipated and the first ever eSports championship in Jharkhand, the CyberPeace eSports League in order to commemorate World Social Media Day. The championship was held at  Level 7-CyberPeace Café near Reliance Trends, North Office Para.
Organised with the aim to raise awareness among gamers and non-gamers alike, this championship saw inclusive participation with several female gamers participating and reminding the world that women are reaching new heights in every field. The championship also saw students of the Kshitiz Deaf and Dumb School, making people aware that perseverance and determination can help one overcome any kind of challenge when provided with innovative methods and equal opportunities.
Recently, the Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has proposed the creation of “Olympic esports Games” to the 142nd IOC Session, which will be held during the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Notably, the IOC is already in advanced discussions with a potential host, and an announcement can be expected very soon after the last formalities have been finalised.
Hence, keeping in mind that esports is making its way to Olympic recognition and making its debut at the Asian Games, it also serves as evidence that gamers are the sports heroes of the digital age. Participants can also explore pathways in the booming esports industry, from innovative tech solutions to dynamic gaming startups. Beyond gameplay, esports enhances strategic thinking, team coordination, and real-time problem-solving skills, which are essential for any cybersecurity professional. Additionally, esports participation can pave the way for careers in cybersecurity, game development, and digital media.
This championship started with multiple rounds where top gamers from all over Jharkhand competed for a coveted spot in the final showdown to compete for the state-level league and titles. This championship represented an unprecedented opportunity for local talent to get recognised in the state and shine on an international stage in future.
The championship had two age groups,
Category-A: 17 years & below and
Category-B: 18 years & above.
Games including Freefire, Beat Saber, and Mortal Kombat were available for gamers on PS5 and VR Oculus. Winners include ‘Sahu’, who took the winner’s trophy with 116 points, while ‘Bloody’ received the first runner-up medal with 89 points and ‘Mahi’ had the second runner up medal with 84 points in Freefire.
On the other hand, Muzammil picked the winner trophy for Beat Saber, and Sunidhi received the first runner up medal. While in Mortal Combat, brothers Katikeya and Piyush received the first and first runner up awards.
While addressing the audience, CyberPeace Founder and Global President, “Our goal behind organising this League is to find out the skilled personnel in eSports, so we may support and train them to reach a national and international platform. With the recommendation from the IOC shared recently, we are hopeful that gamers from our state will represent India in the Olympics.”
“Furthermore, we hope to create an inclusive and safe gaming community in the state to provide guidance to the budding talent. Secondly, we also hope that you pledge to become responsible gamers and disseminate the same among others in your community as influencers,” he added.
With a passion for eSports and Online skill based gaming and a commitment to excellence, CyberPeace Café strives to create platforms where gamers can thrive and achieve their dreams. CyberPeace also plans to conduct several eSports Leagues in other states which will culminate with a National League.
