Sept 27, 2012: French dairy major, Danone plans national launch of its yoghurts in India by next year. According to the company sources, the new business unit of Danone which was set up last year in India will be responsible to roll out the products next year. The Danone unit in India, called Danone BOP (bottom of the pyramid) produce Fandooz brands of yoghurt.
Danone BOP aims to produce market products for the smaller towns where disposable income is low. It is said that India is the first country where Danone has set up business unit to develop products for the bottom of pyramid consumers.
