On day five of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, India’s unbeaten streak came to an end when Dentsu Creative was named Agency of the Year after the nation’s first-ever Titanium Lion victories by Ogilvy Mumbai and it.

On the festival’s last day, India earned a total of eight Lions, bringing its festival score to 47. This achievement also broke the record for the most Grand Prix win in a year with four, surpassing the two from 2018.

“Happy that Unfiltered History Tour closes its week as India’s most award-winning campaign at Cannes Lions And now also with India’s first Titanium,” the speaker said. We’ve won two, so we’re even more delighted than when India won a Titanium in the first year! PG Aditiya, the co-founder of Talented and former CCO of  Dentsu Webchutney, expressed his gratitude to Ogilvy India for their excellent work on Cadbury.

We probably couldn’t have asked for finer work as a nation to highlight our best year to date at Cannes Lions. In Indian advertising, this is an excellent time to be creative. We pull up our sleeves and start brainstorming ways to top this starting on Monday. This is a fantastic milestone, but it just serves to highlight how far the sector has come. This is a fantastic milestone, but it just serves to highlight how much more our sector is capable of.

Group Chief Creative Officer for India, Ajay Gahlaut, “I cannot even begin to express the thrill I felt when I won Agency of the Year. I used to wonder if I would ever receive that same honour as I used to watch other agencies earn the title. It is true what people say. Dreams are real after all! With the Titanium victory, the hat trick of Grand Prix victories, plus a tonne of other metals, I’m over the moon.

Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman of India and Chairman of Global Creative at Ogilvy: “That the jury’s pick was the same as the people’s choice makes me very happy. The crew who worked on it has my highest admiration.”

Leo Burnett’s The Missing Chapter campaign for P&G India’s Whisper won a Grand Prix in the Sustainable Development Goals Lions category.

Smart Fill by VMLY&R Commerce for Unilever in the Sustainable Development Goals category and Chatpat by FCB India/Kinnect India/FCB Chicago for SOS Children’s Villages India in the Film Lions category both won Silver Lions.

Adeli for Unipads in the Glass: Lion for Change earned VLMLY&R a Bronze Lion, and Chatpat and DDB Mudra’s Machine-Gun Mouth for Battlegrounds Mobile India got a Bronze in the Film Lions category.

Battlegrounds Mobile India has performed admirably for us this year as a piece of work. A Cannes Lion completes its collection of victories, according to Rahul Matthew, the chief creative officer of DDB Mudra Group.
