Pocket Aces, India’s leading digital entertainment company in partnership with Unacademy, has launched the hit Indian medical drama series ‘Operation MBBS Season 2’. The show is a Dice Media original series, which is currently trending on YouTube.
Unacademy is a Bengaluru based educational technology company, which provides tutorials through India’s largest online learning platform. The company has been a brand partner for the series Operation MBBS since Season 1. The partnership aims to build awareness around its NEET and other entrance test preparation courses offered by Unacademy and thereby boost subscriptions.
The series regularly features Unacademy through its various characters like Aakash & Lata who are NEET-UG aspirants, who study using the Unacademy app. Season 2 of the series also introduces the character Yash, a second-year resident psychiatrist who is also an Unacademy Educator. The series also features hallmarks of the app like ‘Legends on Unacademy’, which allows students to learn and seek guidance from industry experts.
Operation MBBS Season 2 focuses on the journey of 3 main protagonists, Nishant (Ayush Mehra), Huma (Sarah Hashmi) and Sakshi (Anshul Chauhan) into their 2nd year of MBBS at Anandibai Joshi medical college. The current season reflects the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of doctors, medical residents and front-line healthcare workers.
Operation MBBS is also India’s first web series to cover the COVID-19 pandemic from a medical fraternity perspective. Season 2 Episode 4 of the series honours the COVID warriors with the central theme – ‘Not All Superheroes Wear Capes’. The episode also secured an IMDB rating of 8.8.
Dice Media and Unacademy through the series Operation MBBS mainly target medical students preparing for NEET as their target audience group. The team working behind Operation MBBS season 2 has pushed their creative boundaries for portraying a real picture of the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of hospitals in India, which have been working 24*7 for providing COVID care facilities and treatment for patients.
Season 1 of the series whooped 1.5 billion YouTube impressions and over 88 million views. The season 2 finale, Episode 5- ‘Critical Condition’ which was premiered on 7April has already crossed 4.9 million views on YouTube.
