Dahanu, 13/02/2024: After the resounding success of the 1 st Dahanu festival, which
witnessed over 1.5 lac + footfall and 1.5 cr+ economic movements via shopping, food,
and activities now get set to explore picturesque coastal Maharashtra as the Dahanu
Festival 2.0 is now around the corner. The Sea View Park at Dahanu Beach will host the
annual event on February 23 rd , 24 th , and 25th, with free entry for all visitors.
Conceptualized to promote Dahanu as an excellent off-beat yet easily accessible beach
holiday destination and to promote local art culture and local entrepreneurship, the
annual festival is organized collaboratively by the Government of Maharashtra, the
local government bodies, and the Dahanu Municipal Council.
Dahanu is a peaceful coastal town with almost two thousand years of history situated in
the north Konkan belt of the Maharashtra-Gujrat border in the Palghar district. The
Iranian and Persian cultures add a touch of oomph to Dahanu. Dahanu is just 2.5 hours
drive from Mumbai, Nashik, and Surat. With good connectivity options from all major
regional cities, Dahanu has retained its relaxed environs, coastal culture, and natural
beauty and has 17km of beautiful beach spread around it. It is one of the major towns in
the belt and is also renowned for its Chikoo farming. Not to forget the Warli culture,
paintings, and art of the Warli tribe, which is what Dahanu is associated with.
