Dr. Ram Charan joins Ratan Tata

Dr. Ram Charan, a well-known business consultant, author, speaker, and management expert, has joined the Advisory board of Repos, an Indian company that was one of the first to offer doorstep fuel delivery. With the help of business giant Ratan Tata, Repos wants to set up an E-Commerce of energy to help move the world toward a future with no carbon emissions.

Charan will give the company advice on its strategic direction, making sure everything is done perfectly, going global, and good corporate governance. He will advise the company’s founders, Chetan and Aditi Walunj, and co-founder, Aparajit Subramaniam, as they build an ecosystem that makes it possible for all kinds of energy to be delivered to consumers’ homes using technology. By making new and old fuels available to end users with just a click and delivering them through Mobile Fuel Stations, Repos Energy will help the world use fuel more sustainably and make new clean fuels available much faster.

Ram Charan is respected all over the world for his strategic leadership and business insight. He has worked as a consultant for over 40 years for companies like Toyota, GE, Bank of America, Honeywell, Aditya Birla Group, Novartis, Fast Retailing (Uniqlo), and Matrix. He is one of the few people who can cut through the complexity of running a business in today’s fast-changing world to get to the heart of the problem. He has worked closely with well-known Fortune 100 CEOs like Jack Welch of GE, Dick Harrington of Thompson Corp, and Ivan Seidenberg of Verizon. He has coached more than a dozen leaders who went on to become CEOs. He has been called “the most powerful consultant alive” by Fortune magazine. Since 1998, Charan has written more than 30 books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages and sold more than 4 million copies. He has also written for Harvard Business Review, Fortune, BusinessWeek, Time, Chief Executive, and USA TODAY, among other publications.

As Repos continues to close the gap between the demand for and supply of clean energy, Ram Charan will lead the next phase of growth for the business and give the founders advice on expanding globally.

Aditi Bhosale Walunj, the founder and chief executive officer of Repos Energy, said, “Mr. Ram Charan’s business sense and strategic leadership are outstanding. Having him join our advisory board is a huge honor. We are sure that Repos will reach new heights with his help and expertise as we work toward our goal of changing the way energy is distributed and helping the world move toward a carbon-free future.”
