Nothing, Carl Pie’s new consumer technology company, Earbuds, has officially launched its first product, wireless earbuds (1). As planned, the product would be released simultaneously in India and other global regions, demonstrating Nothing’s commitment to this market. The Ear (1) will go on for sale in India from August 17 onwards and it is priced at Rs 5,999.
India is one of the most cost-effective markets for Ear (1) earbuds. Nothing has joined hands with Walmart-owned Flipkart for after-sales support and distribution.Nothing compares to Ear (1) in terms of audience targeting by providing them with form, function, and aggressive price to make a sale. Their most attractive part in selling is their “transparent” design scheme. “A breath of fresh air in a cluttered and indifferent market,” Pie said, Nothing’s plan is to create a “connected digital world” through a countless number of devices. Ear (1) will set a new tone for the future. The design is surely one-of-its-kind and Nothing has also quoted that “no detail is too small”. From casing to the earbuds and even retail packaging is also meticulously crafted. It’s the work from the Swedish electronics house Teenage Engineering. Their work encompasses more than just tune and design. These earbuds consist of light active noise cancellation and transparency mode as well. It is featured with Qi wireless charging which provides a backup up to 5.7 hours of listening time and up to 34 hours with the case with ANC off (With ANC on, this reduces to 4 and 24 hours). Rounding off the package is an IPX4 rating.
A companion app is also been launched by Nothing on both Android and iOS. Customising gestures, control EQ levels and ANC are also added. The app also supports find my Earbud functionality.
