Edelweiss Mutual Fund has launched another investor education film this new year as part of its #AdviceZarooriHai series highlighting the ripple effect of good advice. A law graduate from Patna University, Ms. Sarita Rai, rejected offers from reputed firms to achieve a dream i.e., to make Bihar the state with the highest literacy in India and that dream was kindled by the guidance of her 4th-grade teacher. In 2009, she sets up an institute named Udaan that has provided basic education and impacted the lives of thousands of deprived children, especially girls, in Hajipur. The film displays Sarita Rai dedicating her entire life to deliver primary education to children who couldn’t afford school and it is all because of the power of Sarita’s teacher’s advice of using education to help others rather than just to earn a living.
Edelweiss Mutual Fund, in association with the content platform, Josh Talks, explains real-life stories of people who are making an exceptional difference in the lives of others. Driven by a strong vision and supported by good advice, changemakers like Sarita Rai are affecting change in their own communities. MD & CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management Ltd, Ms. Radhika Gupta, said that education plays a vital role in shaping one’s thinking and fine-tuning the way one reacts to a given circumstance. Gupta also said that just as the film highlights a chain reaction triggered by good advice, as a brand, they focus on teaching their investors, empowering them with the right knowledge to make informed investment decisions, with the help of reliable financial advisors.
Most investors are not prepared to understand the various nuances of mutual fund products/schemes. Therefore, it is important to make investors understand and guide them to consult an expert before they make any investment decisions. Often drawing similarities between the importance of advice in life and investing, Edelweiss Mutual Fund’s investor education program wishes to motivate their young investor base, driving home the key message – #AdviceZarooriHai.
