ESAF Foundation celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day alongside ESAF Small Finance Bank, commemorating its 7th Anniversary, in a program held at Lulu International Convention Centre. Thrissur, H.E. Dr C.V. Ananda Bose, Governor of West Bengal, extended his regards via an online message, acknowledging ESAF Bank’s pivotal role in enhancing the nation’s social and economic fabric.
The programme was inaugurated by Adv. K. Rajan, Revenue Minister of Kerala, who praised ESAF’s steadfast commitment to transparency and service excellence. He highlighted how ESAF’s journey from its origins in Kerala to its current national presence epitomises financial inclusivity and empowerment, particularly among marginalised communities.
K Paul Thomas, Founder, of ESAF Group of Social Enterprises, articulated the organisation’s vision to emerge as a leading financial institution in India. He reiterated ESAF’s mission to bridge societal financial divides and extend banking services to every stratum of society, highlighting the bank’s presence across 21 states and two Union Territories.
Dr. Tessie Thomas, Former Director General of Aeronautical Systems, Defence Research and Development Organisation, was honoured with the Sthree Ratna Award in recognition of her contributions. The Best Cooperative Awards were presented to the Jabalpur Indian Coffee Working Cooperative Society, Savitri Phule Goat Farming Producer Company, and Attappadi Agriculture Producers Cooperative Society.
At the event, ESAF Co-operative handed over keys to ‘Snehaveedu,’ homes constructed for the beneficiaries and ESAF Bank unveiled its Corporate My Stamp, symbolising its enduring commitment to innovation and progress. M. K. Varghese, Mayor, Thrissur Corporation, Savitri Singh, Chief Executive of the National Cooperative Union of India, and Mereena Paul and Dr. Jacob Samuel, ESAF Co-Founders, among others, spoke about the profound impact ESAF has made on society.
