EverEnviro’s Bio CNG Plant is nearing completion; the city will get a world-class Waste to Wealth plant ahead of Mahakumbh

Prayagraj, 2nd Jan, 2025: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, on his official visit to the Sangam Nagri, Prayagraj, overviewed the ongoing construction work of the state’s largest bio-CNG facility being developed by EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt Ltd in partnership with the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation. Hon’ble CM expressed satisfaction with the progress of the facility and directed the officials to commence the commercial operations at the earliest.

During the inspection, Mr Mahesh Girdhar, MD and CEO EverEnviro, Mr. KA Chowdary, Chief Project and Operations Officer alongwith Municipal Commissioner, Prayagraj, Shri. Chandra Mohan Garg briefed the Hon’ble CM about the various facets of the plant. The state’s largest bio-CNG facility, spanning approximately 12.5 acres near Jahangirabad and Arail Ghat in Naini, is expected to produce 21.5 metric tonnes of bio-CNG, 200 metric tonnes of fermented organic manure (FOM), and 30 metric tonnes of briquettes daily.

Aligned with the Waste-to-Wealth mission, the plant will enable the state to generate Rs 53 lakh annually by converting municipal waste into valuable resources. This initiative marks a significant milestone for Prayagraj in addressing its waste management challenges while contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

The project will be executed in two phases. In the first phase, the plant will feature two digesters capable of processing 200 tons of wet waste daily, producing 8.9 tons of bio-CNG each day. The second phase will further enhance the plant’s capacity, adding 13.2 tons of bio-CNG production per day.

Mr. Mahesh Girdhar, MD & CEO of EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. said, “This project reflects our commitment to building a sustainable future by addressing the dual challenges of waste management and renewable energy generation. The facility will not only reduce the city’s greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution but also provide clean energy and high-quality fermented organic manure, fostering a circular economy that benefits both urban and rural communities while contributing to India’s renewable energy goals.”

This plant aims to make a big impact on the region’s environment by reducing approximately 56,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. It will also help cut down greenhouse gas emissions by diverting waste from landfills. FOM (Fermented Organic Manure) which will be produced as a byproduct will enhance soil health & crop productivity in nearly 1 Lac acres every year.

Mr. KA Chowdary, Chief Projects and Operations Officer, EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt. Ltd said, “We are committed to accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s journey toward sustainability by scaling up renewable energy production, promoting regenerative agriculture through fermented organic manure, and generating green jobs. This plant will not only reduce the city’s environmental impact but also create long-term economic opportunities for the region, contributing to both job creation and revenue generation.”

Prayagraj has been dealing with a growing waste problem, with daily garbage piling up across the city. The bio-CNG plant is part of the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation’s efforts to tackle this issue. The plant will convert waste from households, hotels, restaurants, and temples into bio-CNG and fermented organic manure, creating a reliable source of income.

Additionally, the project will create around 200 job opportunities, contributing to local economic growth. This initiative marks an important step towards a cleaner and more sustainable Prayagraj.
