The Seattle-based travel company announces a makeover with a new makeover. After a year of uncertainty with no travel, most of the brands in the sector got a huge blow, while Expedia will launch a brand new global positioning, and focus on an updated look and feel by offering enhanced products and services.

The online travel agency put together a new and fresh website with a high-budget marketing campaign as a part of its travel rebound. Expedia kick-started the brand new makeover with a big-budget ad starring the US actress Rashida Jones. The ad shows how a woman undertakes a solo journey to a foreign nation and the various difficulties she faces, at this point Expedia turns up and with just a snap of a finger turns the woman’s journey into a memorable one. While the US version of the ad film features Jones, the UK and European versions would be starred by English actor Naomie Harris.

With the tagline “It matters who you travel with”, the travel company tries to impart the idea that Expedia is the best and ultimate travel companion. The Company tries to differentiate itself from a slew of competitors struggling for all travel enthusiasts by putting design and digital user experience at the forefront. With the new makeover, Expedia plans to create a cohesive message that would resonate as people go back to traveling.

Expedia also plans to simplify the insurance experience of the customers by translating the policy wordings into easy-to-understand content, improving the method of submitting claims through clear steps on the required documents, as well as the status and the next step once a claim has been submitted. The simplification would help to reinforce the coverage by adding broader functionality and delivering values by monitoring the events of a customer’s journey for claim eligibility.

Shiv Singh the senior vice president and general manager of Expedia, on the launch of the new face of the brand, commented that as travelers are adjusting to the new norms, the company must adjust as well. The rebranding would refresh Expedia’s platform experience and the new home screen with a clear and simple layout would assist and empower the travelers to build a complete trip that suits their interests and needs.
