Facebook Inc, the largest social networking company has announced that it would launch a new service. Facebook new ad service will allow the advertisers to pay for the ads when they are scrolled from the top to bottom on the news feeds.
This service is named “100 percent in-view impressions” and it will include video, text, image, link and video ads. This was announced by the social networking company on Thursday via its blog post.
Facebook has also stated that it is partnering with an ad analytics company, Moat. This company will verify video ad metrics on the social network. By doing so, Moat will give the details about the performance of their video ad campaigns to the advertisers.
The company stated that the new features that are announced provide the advertisers a greater control on how they run as well as measure their ads on the social network.
The company stated that Moat will expand its services later to all the other ads listed on news feeds. This will include the new service that has been launched and it also includes the ads on the Instagram, the photo sharing app.
Instagram opened the platform to a majority of the advertisers across the world in the last week. This was done to let them make more money as well as compete with their well known rivals including Snapchat.
Back in July, the social networking firm Facebook reported better revenue in the second quarter of this year than the expected one. However, the profit dropped by nine percent as the firm sharply increased the spending to augment mobile revenue as well future growth.
Instagram was acquired by Facebook in the year 2012 for a deal of $1 billion (approx. Rs. 6,615 crore). The company dominates mobile advertising with over 75 percent of its ad revenue worth $3.8 (approx. Rs. 25,139 crore) billion coming from phones.
