Chennai, February 21th, 2023 – The Fans of ŠKODA juggernaut rolled into Chennai as a continuation of ŠKODA AUTO India’s efforts to connect and reach out to its customers across India. Also known as the Cultural Capital of India, Chennai set the stage for an entire day of celebrations, exchanges, and interactions among each other for fans, enthusiasts and owners of ŠKODAs and their families who showed up in overwhelming numbers.

Fans of ŠKODA began as a pilot project in February 2022 as part of the company’s larger INDIA 2.0 Project. While the Project delved on developing all new products and platforms specifically tailored for customers in India, INDIA 2.0 also involved customer centricity and customer engagement through increasing customer touchpoints, bringing down ownership costs and providing a platform for customers to interact with each other and with ŠKODA AUTO India.

Including the latest endeavour, Fans of ŠKODA has toured 14 cities across India gathering phenomenal response with over 550 fans participating to date. In 2023, this breakthrough activation is expected to reach out to more fans across 20 cities.

ŠKODA AUTO INDIA marked 2022 as its Biggest Year in sales with triple-digit growth of 125% and 53,721 units sold. The manufacturer’s customer-centric approach also saw it increase its customer touchpoints from 175 in 2021 to over 240 in 2022. The company’s best-selling car, the ŠKODA KUSHAQ SUV currently tops the safety list in India according to the latest Global NCAP crash tests. It earned a full 5-stars in both adult and child safety under GNCAP’s newer, stricter test protocols.

Today, ŠKODA is an industry leader with a 4-year/100,000 km standard warranty over the industry-standard 3-year one. In addition to this warranty is a 4-year Peace of Mind Package, a Complimentary Standard Maintenance Package, and an option to enhance the 4-year standard warranty to year 5 and year 6 of the ownership for both the KUSHAQ and the SLAVIA.

To sweeten the deal further, the automaker recently announced the Anytime Warranty initiative. This is a 1-year/20,000 km warranty package that can be added to any ŠKODA, including older cars like the RAPID and previous generations of the OCTAVIA, SUPERB and KODIAQ. The car needs to fulfil certain criteria to be eligible for the warranty. For instance, it must be under 7 years of purchase, must not have done more than 130,000 kms and pass the pre-warranty inspection among others. With this, the company is not only making warranty a flexible facility, but also ensuring older or out-of-warranty cars could avail of the convenience.

Moreover, Anytime Warranty allows buyers of a new ŠKODA the option to have an effective warranty of 8 years or 150,000 kms, whichever earlier, making this the best time to buy a ŠKODA. These benefits also pass on to the next owner of the ŠKODA if the customer decides to sell the vehicle, enhancing its resale value.
