Ford India, the automobile manufacturer will start accepting the bookings for its forthcoming company sedan called Figo Aspire at its dealerships starting from the next week for a supposed price of Rs 30,000 from July 27. As of now, the company has not announced any word regarding the release date. But, it is expected to happen in mid-August.

While the compact sedan, Figo Aspire is expected to go on roads in the country in the next month, it is one among the three variants of the vehicle that the manufacturer is planning to introduce in the country in the next nine months.

The Figo Aspire will be launched in both petrol and diesel variants. Ford will also launch a petrol powered automatic transmission model of the Figo Aspire compact sedan. The variants include a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine model, a 1.5-litre TiVCT petrol model and a 1.5-litre TDCi petrol model.

As per Anurag Mehrotra, the Executive Director of Ford India’s Marketing, Sales and Service division, the manufacturer created the Figo Aspire specifically for the customers in the country. He added that it is a no comprise compact sedan that will definitely delight the customers.

While the launch of the Figo Aspire is all set to happen in the country in the next month, the manufacturer seems to be aiming to enter the high growth compact sedan segment of the country’s automobile market. This compact sedan market segment is currently dominated by the manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Honda Cars, Hyundai and Tata Motors.

The manufacturer Ford is resolute to make a mark in the Indian market in spite of the already existing fierce competition in this segment that accounts to about 30,000 to 35,000 cars per month. The sales of the compact sedan car segment were 1.1 million units of vehicles in the year 2014. Eventually, the market share of the segment in the automobile market was 45 percent.

Ford India has 341 outlets in the country for its sales and services that are spread out across 186 cities.
