Distributes 5000 Eco-friendly Seed Ganesha Prosperity Box

Hyderabad: 30th August 2022Gemini Edibles and Fats India Ltd (GEF India), the marketers and refiners of Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils as a part of their CSR initiatives joined the efforts of the state government to promote the concept of ‘Eco-Ganesha’ for the 4th year in a row by distributing 5000 Seed Eco-Ganesha prosperity boxes in the city. The use and awareness of eco-friendly Ganesh is on the rise as the immersion of these idols has no debilitating effect on the water bodies. Freedom Healthy Oils team distributed the Eco-friendly seed Ganesha to the channel partners & apartment complexes like Rainbow Vista (Phase 1&2), Malaysian Township, Aparna Sarovar, My Home Abhra. Bhanu TownShip, Satellite TownShip, Ridge Towers, NCL Sindhu Jayabheri, My Home Jewel , ARK Homes, Lodha Meridian, One City, Majeera Majestic,  Bhaviya. etc, in the city

The culture of installing an Murthi of Lord Ganesha is a tradition and has been going on for years. The murthi’s are normally made of Clay or Plaster of Paris and also painted with commercial paints to give them a real to life look and charm. The problem is the materials and the finishing products going towards the preparation of the murthi are toxic and also not good for nature, as they may have a harmful effect on soil and water bodies. To keep the environmental impact of the Ganesh festival to a minimum, people have started having clay and soluble Ganesh Murthi with manure and plant-able seeds. Once immersed in the pot, the Ganesh idol grows into a plant, with the seeds available in the murthi.

Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils has innovated a new and very unique initiative to tackle the water pollution & to promote the Go Green Concept. It has come up with “Eco Pond”, vehicle a novel and environmentally beneficial effort which will make daily trips to selected locations across the city until the last day of Nimarjanam in order to dissolve Ganapathi Murthi in ponds. After the murthi dissolves, the leftover sludges can be utilised in the future for a variety of purposes, including fertilisation and the manufacture of chalk, among others.

Speaking about the initiative Mr. P Chandra Shekhara Reddy, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils said, “It is a part of our tradition to celebrate the Ganesh festival by placing the idol of Lord Ganesha in our homes. To help people celebrate the festival with traditional fervour and protect the environment, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils has decided to distribute nearly 5000 eco-friendly Seed Ganesh idols in the city. We have been distributing the eco-friendly seed Ganesha idols for 3 years. We request the people to celebrate the Ganesh festival and immerse the idols in a pot so that the seeds embedded in Ganesha can grow into a plant and save the impact of Ganesh idol immersion on water bodies.”
